"MasterChef Junior" Season 5 recap

On Episode 6, the young chefs watched a video featuring Former First Lady of the US Michelle Obama, who revealed the mystery box challenge for the day. She told the contestants that they have to prepare a healthy dish following the MyPlate standards within one hour. At the end of the challenge, the judges announced that Justise won after being called in the top three with Peyton and Lila. Apart from earning immunity for the next challenge, she also got a chance to visit the White House.

The next round featured “Modern Family” actress Julie Bowen as the guest judge. For the elimination challenge, she told the kids to make a dish inspired by their mothers. When Justise was given the chance to save two other contestants, she called Mark and Shayne. After an hour, the judges tasted the dishes and Afnan emerged to have the best dish. On the other hand, the plates served by Donovan, Mashu and Evan were deemed the worst. In the end, Evan was sent to safety, while Donovan and Mashu were sent home.
