New Mass Effect game series has been delayed until 2015 due to the soon debut of the third instalment of Dragon Age for 2014. Moreover, new storyline for Mass Effect is expected after Shepard's life ended on the trilogy.

Mass Effect 4 Delayed Release Date

Dragon Age Inquisition is the most anticipated game from BioWare for 2014 and it tells the story of an Inquisitor dealing with Tear in the Veil after the events on Dragon Age 2. Former BioWare community manager Chris Priestly hinted out the preparation for Dragon Age Inquisition set for late 2014 release right before the new Mass Effect game project next year.

"I would guess that BioWare wants the focus of 2014 to be on Dragon Age: Inquisition. DA2 was not loved by all fans but it was an important step going from DA:O to what DA:I looks to be," quoted by KPopStarz.

Moreover, Mass Effect 4 game title seems to be a "disservice" as the story for Commander Shepard is over on the Mass Effect Trilogy. Priestly's comments have been posted that the iconic character from the trilogy will no longer appear on the upcoming Mass Effect game series at the BioWare forums.

End of Shepard's Storyline

Commander Shepard faced four choices at the finale of Mass Effect 3 given by the Catalyst after the Crucible connects itself to the Citadel. The player may choose to destroy the Reapers, control the Reapers, synthesis or simply refuse to activate the Crucible but the aftermath depends on the Effective Military Strength level on the War Assets.

Choosing "control", "synthesis" or "refuse" will always result on the unquestionable death of Shepard at the end-game cut-scene. However, if the player chooses "destroy" option with very high EMS, Shepard's love interest will not place his plaque on the memorial wall then smiles and a cut-scene of Shepard breathing in a pile of rubble appears right before the end credits.

However, Priestly's post at the BioWare forums points out that the Mass Effect Trilogy is all about Commander Shepard and a new protagonist will carry a new story on the next generation Mass Effect series.

In addition to a new Mass Effect game, a film adaptation has been planned with BioWare's Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeshuk and Casey Hudson as executive producers expected to debut on 2018 or 2019.
