Spoiler alert. This article contains 'Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' mid-season 3 finale spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

The winter finale entitled “Maveth” will feature Simmons sharing some information to Malick, but receiving some bad news in return. The official synopsis on ABC states that Fitz and Coulson covertly went with Hydra on their trip through the portal, with the main objective of bringing back the Inhuman. Coulson finally reaches his breaking point and S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra are pitted against each other in a fight that will change Coulson’s world forever. They both take the ultimate risk, while Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and her group of Inhumans battle to control Hydra.

Hypable reveals that in “Maveth,” Coulson will wake up after skydiving through the portal and landing hard on the side of a hill. The episode is expected to provide closure to various themes and there will also be a number of character deaths. Fans will get more clues regarding the identity and nature of Maveth and its powers. A lot of focus will be given to Ward and he is expected to undergo a major change during the episode. Mack, on the other hand, will shine as the interim director of S.H.I.E.L.D. In comparison to Coulson, Mack knows the capabilities of his agents and trusts them. “Maveth” will certainly provide a lot of surprises. There will be new revelations and allegiances and the game will be changed entirely.

“Maveth” was written by Jeffrey Bell and directed by Vincent Misiano, ComicBook reported. The episode airs on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC. It will be the mid-season finale before the winter break. “Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” then will resume in 2016.
