Justin Bieber fans have something else to celebrate: Mark Wahlberg commended the pop star of having the "it" factor that he looks for in up-and-coming acts.

"'Intuition. I'm pretty intuitive," the onetime Marky Mark said of how he knew Bieber was a great pick to star in their upcoming basketball-themed flick. "I see the guy and spent time with him, and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him, and it's there," reported Hollywood Life at a recent interview with the "Entourage" creator.

Wahlberg is a Hollywood actor, television and film producer, as well as a former rapper. He is also known for the Calvin Klein underwear ads, sometimes accompanied by Kate Moss.

As an actor, he is known for movies such as "Renaissance Man," "The Basketball Diaries," and "Boogie Nights." On TV, he is well-known for "Entourage," which is said to be based on his life and his circle of friends. He is also responsible for "Boardwalk Empire" and "How to Make It in America."

Wahlberg can't stress enough how the "Baby" singer has so much potential. He said that even though Bieber might not have that much acting experience, he has what it takes.

Bieber was first discovered via video site YouTube. Scooter Braun discovered him and introduced him to Usher, who then signed him to Raymond Braun Media Group. Bieber's first single "One Time" debuted in 2009 and peaked in the top 10 of Canada's charts. "My World," his debut album, soon followed and is one of the first to have seven songs to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Wahlberg believes in Bieber so much that he said he will take it out if what he 'saw' is not there.

Even if Bieber has a hard time getting into the groove on set, Mark says have no fear: 'It's there - and if not, I will extract it.'" said the producer.

Sure enough, Bieber fans will have a field day if the pop star does give a green light on the project.
