Things seem to be going downhill for Mariah Carey and Nick Canon, since they have pulled a plug on their relationship. The recent reports suggest that the divorce proceeding are distracting Carey and it seems to be taking toll on her professional life. Much recently, the singing diva appeared late for the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting performance as she was busy discussing the details of her impending divorce.

According to People Magazine's report Carey was tied up in a conversation with her lawyers, as agreement on the custody of her children remains undecided. "She was on the phone for probably close to five hours straight with lawyers," said a source. This apparently made her late for the performance.

Carey and Canon may take the custody battle to the court and it is further presumed that the as the divorce proceeding come into play, it may give rise to dissidence from both the parties. The estranged duo is also finding a way to divide their assets, but are unable to come to any amicable decision, as reported.

At the moment they both share the guardianship of their children Monroe and Moroccan. Moreover, in the happier times, they had built massive assets including a $5million jet and a slew of luxury cars, whose division is yet to happen, as reported By InTouch Weekly.

"I think they're trying to work all these details out on property and the kids before it gets filed," a source said to People

Meanwhile, the exes recently celebrated Thanksgiving together. They reunited for the festivities at Canon's home. They reportedly planned to have a get together for the sake of their kids. The "Hero" singer also took to Instagram and posted her picture from the celebrations. She dressed in a stunning red gown and coupled her look with a pair of silver heels and dainty silver jewellery. The photo was taken at the foyer of Canon's home and was captioned as "Thanksgiving."

Carey and Cannon announced their split earlier this summer. They got married in 2008. They first started dating after meeting on the sets of the music video "Bye Bye." In 2011, Carey gave birth to her two kids, who are fraternal twins.
