Argentine fighter Marcos Maidana, who suffered two straight losses to Floyd Mayweather, is reportedly interested in having a showdown in the boxing ring with eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Maidana has been presented several options for his next fight in 2015, such as a rematch with Amir Khan and Adrien Broner, but he is eyeing for a fight with the Filipino boxing icon.

As far as his next fight is concerned, Maidana told Fox Deportes that he doesn't think of any fighter in particular except Pacquiao. "I do not think any other fighter can be better than Pacquiao," Maidana said.

The 31-year-old former World Boxing Association or, WBA welterweight champion said that he is not really interested with a rematch with Broner. Maidana defeated Broner via unanimous in December 2013, but lost to Khan in December 2012.

According to Maidana, his team will wait to find out if they can land a fight with Pacquiao. He added that a rematch with the previous opponents doesn't really present any excitement to him.

Maidana thinks that a Pacquiao fight would be an exhilarating bout because they have their own style. He revealed that Top Rank already offered him a fight with Pacquiao before he faced Mayweather for the second time, but they decided to go with the Mayweather fight because they were already adept with the way the American fighter fights. In addition, they chose the Mayweather fight because they were hoping to score a victory in the rematch.

Unfortunately, Maidana lost to Mayweather again. The Argentine boxer said they try to work out a fight with Pacquiao in 2015.

Pacquiao has not yet commented on Maidana's statements. The Filipino fighter is busy with his training camp with less than three weeks before he defends his World Boxing Organization, or WBO welterweight title against Chris Algieri on November 23 in Macau.

In June, Maidana said in an interview that he doesn't have any special boxing skill if he is to fight Pacquiao. He said that he will be showcasing the same tactics that he always does in all his fights. Maidana said that his opponent should be the one to study his moves.
