Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid lately, but the former Atletico man rubbished such rumours by revealing that he "feels wanted" at Old Trafford.

The former Atletico man has turned into one of the best shot-stoppers in the world since moving to England in 2011, and seems to be the logical successor as Spain's no. 1. In spite of achieving such a status early in his career and having options of moving to a relatively bigger club, he wants to reciprocate the appreciation shown to him in United above anything else.

"In Manchester I feel wanted," said the 24-year-old.

"If you took seriously what is written about you, you'd almost think you're going to a thousand clubs."

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are expected to further bolster their squad in the upcoming windows, as disclosed by executive vice chairman Ed Woodward.

"We are not looking to enter the market for short-term fixes," said Woodward.

"However we have targets that we are looking at for next summer. Should any of them become available in January - which obviously is rare - we will consider acting. But in terms of expectations-setting we all need to recognise that is a low probability."
