‘Man of Steel’ 2013: James Franco Hints "Feud” with Superman, Henry Cavill [PHOTOS]

James Franco has revealed his longtime ‘feud’ with ‘Man of Steel’ actor, Henry Cavill, saying that the ‘bad blood’ between them dated as far back as when they were filming classic film, ‘Tristan and Isolde’ between 2005-2006.

According to Metro UK, Franco hinted that the feud may have begun when he 127 Hours star revealed that Cavill had always wanted to wear Superman’s cape back then.

‘Years ago we worked on a film together called Tristan & Isolde. I played Tristan and he played my backstabbing sidekick. My hunch is that he didn’t like me very much,’ Franco began as he recalled his time shooting the film with Cavill.

Then Franco continued saying he thought Henry had always wanted to play Superman’s role.

He said, “What Henry took seriously back then was Superman. He wanted to be Superman more than anything in the world.”

The former Oscar host even noted that Henry was already eyeing a different version of the Superman role back then, but was passed over by another actor.

Franco recalled, “Henry was dying to do the Bryan Singer version of Superman that was being put together as we were shooting Tristan in Ireland and the Czech Republic in 2005. Henry was in the running but, in the end, he was passed over for Brandon Routh.”

The bad blood between them however, didn’t emanate from the Superman role as Franco was never in the running as Cavill did. But Franco has a pretty good idea why the Man of Steel star may not like to be in the same room with him.

Franco said, ‘I don’t know this for certain, but I know that I wouldn’t have liked myself back then because I was a difficult young actor, who took himself too seriously.’
