"Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams has opened up about the hurt she experienced because of cyberbullying. The 17-year-old English actress' confession came in the exclusive behind-the-scenes video of her upcoming Channel 4 drama titled "Cyberbully."

According to an exclusive Mail Online report, Maisie Williams talked about being cyberbullied in the drama's footage. Additionally, the young star shared that filming "Cyberbully" became an "emotional rollercoaster" experience for her.

The mini-documentary beings with the footage from Maisie Williams' casting tape. "Everything gets slated on the internet. If you post something up there someone's going to say something about it," Williams stated.

The footage continues with the English actress sharing about encountering Internet trolls most of the time. "As soon as someone finds out something you're insecure about or that bothers you, they will use that against you, which is awful," Williams shared.

Maisie Williams claimed that it is easy to dismiss the online bullying by saying "It's just a troll - they don't know you" but the actress admitted that the trolling does hurt. In "Cyberbully," the young actress portrays a teenage girl named Casey who is battling an anonymous cyber-stalker.

When asked to talk about her on-screen character, Maisie Williams described Casey as a "very normal teenager" who is able to express herself on the Internet with the use of several alias names. "There she can post what she finds happy and what she finds sad, until someone takes over her computer and makes her out to be some she isn't," the actress shared.

Maisie Williams added that every person can be portrayed if someone gains access to their computer files. Furthermore, the young actress hopes that the Channel 4 drama titled "Cyberbully," a story inspired by several real-life cases, will be an "honest representation" for all of the teenagers out there who experiences online bullying.

"What we wanted the audience to take away from this was an honest representation of teens on the internet - without being patronising or using embarrassing text speak," Williams explained.
