There is a new crisis brewing in the Middle East in the next episode of "Madam Secretary." Elizabeth McCord has to face a new challenging situation posed by her eldest daughter. She is just beginning to understand office politics as she makes friends and enemies along the way. [Spoiler Alert]

A new situation has arisen in Yemen for Elizabeth McCord. She may have to confront Russell Jackson, the Chief of Staff, to push for a solution. Another U.S citizen may find himself in a difficult situation.

In the previous episode of "Madam Secretary," Elizabeth McCord was able to successfully negotiate the release of two captured U.S citizens in Syria. She had to arm twist an old contact and put her job on the line to get it done. Will she face her first failure in the next episode? The Chief of Staff was seen to be threatened by her presence and was constantly trying to exert his authority.

Elizabeth also has to contend with some domestic issues in the next episode of "Madam Secretary." Her eldest daughter will be making headlines for protesting against a new policy of the University. The role of the eldest daughter, Allison McCord, is played by Kathrine Herzer.

"Madam Secretary" makes an attempt to show Elizabeth McCord's professional as well as personal life and how she tries to achieve a work-life balance. Her choice of accepting the President's offer led to the family having to relocate. Her eldest daughter was last seen upset and complained about missing her boyfriend.

There is also intrigue in "Madam Secretary." One of her friends, George, gets murdered toward the end of the first episode. The murder was disguised as a car accident. Before his death, George had warned Elizabeth that someone from inside the White House may be involved with a recent plane crash. He suspects that drugs, weapons or money laundering may be involved.

Will Elizabeth discover who is behind George's death in episode 2? How will she handle an increasingly antagonistic Chief of Staff? One of her staff members, Nadine Tolliver, has not come to appreciate her talents yet.
