We all know Lady Gaga as a highly successful singer but Monsters (Gaga's fans) will be surprised to know that she is an equally talented actress as well. Acclaimed director Robert Rodriguez, who has casted the "Applause" singer as a sexy assassin in the upcoming movie "Machete Kills" is all praises for her and says she didn't need any time to adjust to the camera!

The pop diva plays La Chameleón - the gun trotting, abusing and sexy blonde hair assassin who is after ex-Federale Machete (played by Danny Trejo) after $10 million bounty is placed on him. Looking at the trailers one can see that Gaga does a good job to portray her character.

So how did Rodriguez think of casting Lady Gaga? The ace director informs that the idea kicked his mind when the "Marry the Night" singer expressed her desire in a press conference following the release of the film series' first flick, "Machete," that she wished her song, "Americano," could have been included in the movie.

Rodriguez immediately got in touch with Gaga and was surprised to know that she was keen on appearing in the movie too. "It's been a dream of mine to work in a film of yours or Quentin Tarantino's!," Gaga said, according to the director.

Rodriguez told The Daily Best that Gaga told him how she has studied acting and even wanted to be one but the destiny had different ideas for the singer.

"She told me she studied acting and started out as an actor, but music took over," says Rodriguez. "I wanted to create something that was memorable, but also small enough that she could do it while on tour," he said adding that he wanted Gaga to play a different character and not the singer herself.

Rodriguez is happy that he chose Gaga as she came out to be confident and each scene was perfect as the singer was well rehearsed.

"She wasn't nervous at all. She was confident, wanted to work with the director and wanted direction, but also brought her own thing," Rodriguez said.

"Every single take was perfect. I told her, 'I've never said this to anyone before: the first take is just to warm up, but you nailed it on the first take, so let's just do five or six more takes just because -- even though we already got it," he added.

Gaga's enthusiasm was so great that the director also wrote some extra dialogue for her and he has good amount of footage of Gaga chasing Machete. "She was being so inventive in the car, so I had to reorganize the entire sequence around it. I have so much footage of her chasing Machete and I have to figure out how to use it," he adds.
