Reading, browsing or working on Mac at night will now be less straining to the eyes, thanks to a US$2.99 app (AU$3.96) that lets users change screen colour display to adjust on their liking. NightTime allows users to change the colour of their screen display and adjust other settings to make browsing an eye-friendly experience.

It gives the user options to select from five preset colour palettes: warm organge for late working hours, soft black for inverted colours for dark rooms, noisy green for long text reading, silky blue for rooms with a lot of sunlight, or tender white for movie nights or dark photo work. Nighttime browsing has been one of the leading case of eye strain among smartphone and computer users.

“Siri” on Mac

On a related development, Apple has recently released the fourth developer preview of macOS Sierra on the App Store. With the maCOS Sierra, Mac users can tap Siri on their desktops.

“Easily accessible from the Dock, menu bar or keyboard, Siri lets you use your voice to search for information, find files and send messages,” Apple said in a statement.

On macOS Sierra, Safari now supports secured online shopping with Apple Pay.

“You no longer need to share credit or debit card numbers with an online merchant and actual card numbers are not stored on your device, nor on Apple servers. Just look for the Apple Pay button at checkout on many of your favourite shopping sites and complete your purchase with Touch ID on your iPhone or by using your Apple Watch,” Apple said.

MacOS Sierra also improves seamless integration with iCloud as users can share and open files from their desktop computers to their iPad or iPhones.

“Universal Clipboard allows you to copy content, including text, images, photos and video from one Apple device and paste it in another,” it added.
