The mother will be the main focus of the plot in “Lucifer” Season 2. Executive Producer Joe Henderson recently teased the character’s agenda and also talked about a new angel being introduced this year.

[Spoiler alert]

In an interview with TV Line, Henderson revealed that there is a bit of jealousy that Amendiel (D.B. Woodside) feels after God ordered Morningstar (Tom Ellis) to find their mother and not him. The producer said that the character wants to do “dad’s bidding,” but he is not the one who got the “marching orders.”

The producer revealed that the two brothers have been looking for their mother after the finale episode. He teased that Charlotte’s (Tricia Helfer) agenda in escaping from Hell and coming to Earth is “very emotional and very genuine.” That agenda, however, will “shift” later on.

According to the official character description of Charlotte, she wants to spend some time with her sons in “Lucifer” Season 2. It is not clear if she is seeking revenge for being locked up in Hell for all those years.

The reunion of the Mother with her sons in Los Angeles will lead to another Angel coming down to earth. Whether the new angel Uriel (Michael Imperioli) will be a friend or a foe “will be a mystery,” the producer teased.

On the other hand, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) will have “conflicted feelings” about the Mother of Angels. The character used to be the Chief Enforcer in Hell, and knows Charlotte.

“She may be wanting to finish the job she started,” Henderson said about Maze.

Meanwhile, Chloe (Lauren German) will continue to investigate Morningstar in “Lucifer” Season 2, while the two join hands once again to solve another murder in the city. After seeing him survive another point blank shooting, she has his blood sample that she can use.
