Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne recently had fans worried over a possible feud between them after they were seen engaged in some kind of altercation during their Manchester show Monday night. While One Direction was performing on stage, Payne was caught on video shoving Tomlinson away.

The video below taken during One Direction’s show at the Manchester Arena had fans asking if Payne and Tomlinson are fighting. While Harry Styles sings “What Makes You Beautiful,” the camera pans to show Tomlinson and Payne in what seemed like a heated conversation. Payne is seen saying something to Tomlinson before he shoved him away and the latter tried to swipe the former's hand off his arm.

One of the concert-goers, a student from Essex named Maisie, told Mirror UK that Payne might have been annoyed at Tomlinson because of the latter's behaviour that night. The soon-to-be-father reportedly kept disappearing off stage between songs and at one time even forgot the words to one of the songs. Styles had to take over and sang Tomlinson’s line.

"Then just towards the end it was obvious that the band had a routine and were supposed to be in certain places at a certain time. They were all there except Louis. He was at the back and on the other side of the stage,” she said.

At one point, while Payne was singing, Tomlinson reportedly deliberately blocked his way. She told Mirror UK that the incident was what probably triggered Payne to push Tomlinson “quite hard” and “quite aggressively.” Another eyewitness claimed it was during the encore that Tomlinson stood intentionally in front of Payne to block him.

Other members of One Direction were reportedly also confused with Tomlinson’s behaviour that night. However, representatives for the group told Mirror UK that Payne and Tomlinson were just playing with each other. Contradicting Maisie’s claims, the reps clarified that "Louis didn’t disappear” on stage and that clearly the pair were just “messing about on stage” as what they normally do during their shows. In the video below, it also did look like Tomlinson was smiling while being pushed away.

If there was any bad blood between Tomlinson and Payne that night, then such did not reflect on the former's recent Twitter post. Meanwhile, Payne seemed to hint of their Manchester gig on his tweet about having a “friendly banter.”
