Arena Tekstil employees from the Adriatic town of Pula went on strike in February after not being paid for at least four months. Ten months after Croatia achieved its dream of joining the European Union, its economy is still shrinking, sending a troubling reminder to its ex-Yugoslav neighbours that the bloc cannot promise prosperity. Croatia, the EU's 28th member state, is its worst economic performer this year, along with bailed-out Greece and Cyprus, and there is little sign so far of local start-ups or foreign investors generating viable businesses beyond tourism. Feng, a 21-year-old Chinese woman caught her husband, 32-year-old Fan Lung cheating on her after she found out that he sent a photo to his lover, 21-year-old Zhang Hung of Shangqiu City, using her cellphone.

To get even, Feng imitated what scorned American woman Lorena Bobbitt did 30 years ago, which was to chop off her husband's penis using a pair of scissors while he was in dreamland.

Fortunately for the philandering husband, the doctors were able to reattach the severed genital of Fan after he was rushed to the hospital.

However, Feng was still not content, proving true the saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." She went to the hospital's recovery room, cut off the just-reattached penis the second time and threw it out of the window, reports CEN.

Despite blood gushing out of his groin, Fan ran after Feng and beat her outside the hospital. The hospital staff stopped Fan and together with the police tried searching for the chopped genitals but they couldn't find it. Their theory is that perhaps a stray cat or dog found it and decided to make Fan's penis its meal.

Feng was treated in the hospital and has been arrested for grievous body harm. Fan, who lost a lot of blood, had another emergency surgery, but is now in a stable condition. The hospital spokesman said he is extremely distraught emotionally.

Fan plans to divorce Feng, while Zhang, who visited Fan in the hospital said she plans to marry her lover despite lacking a penis. She was quoted by Telegraph as saying, "It doesn't matter that he's lost his fertility, he has five children already."
