The hottest singer in New Zealand right now will be performing for free! Lorde is giving her fellow Aucklanders a free show with dubstep act Mt Eden as support in September.

Digital radio iHeartRadio has organised a free concert with the 16-year-old rising superstar at the Vector Arena on September 7. It will be Lorde’s only show in New Zealand in 2013, so fans might want to take advantage.

Everyone who wants to see the 16-year-old “Royal” singer should sign up for an account at iHeart before 11:00 pm on Sunday, September 1. It will be a “first come first served” basis, and those who are fortunate enough to be included in the count will receive an email on September 2 with a link to the Ticketmaster page, which will allow them to claim their two tickets.

It wasn’t mentioned how many tickets the station are giving away.

Meanwhile, Lorde has just become the first solo female act to top the U.S. Billboard Alternative Songs chart in 17 years with “Royals.” The last female to do so was back in 1996, Lorde’s birth year, when Tracy Bonham dominated the chart with her hit “Mother Mother.”

And it took 17 years for Billboard to give the title back to another woman.

The Kiwi teen, whose real name is Ella Yelick-O’Connor, also amazed festival-goers at the Splendour in the Grass festival in Australia when she replaced U.S. singer Frank Ocean at the last minute. Ocean pulled out of the line-up after suffering a tear to his vocal cords, prompting the organisers to contact the Auckland-based singer ASAP.

“Something absurd and cool just came up which involves me getting on a plane in about 24 hours,” Lorde tweeted to her followers a day before she was due on stage on July 28. “See you at splendour b*tches.”

Her debut album “Pure Heroine” is set to hit stores on September 30.
