Jordon Ibe, the young winger for Liverpool Football Club in the English Premier League, will be out for at least four weeks because of a knee ligament injury. Ibe sustained the injury in the team’s Europa League loss to Besiktas last Thursday. Ibe has been playing well for the Liverpool side since his return fro a loan to Derby County in January.

The teenager, just at 19 years old, made his first start in the Premiere League last Feb. 7, 2015 and was named the man of the match in the 0-0 draw with Everton. Ibe once again started for Liverpool against Tottenham Hotspur helping the team win 3-2 in that match.

Without Ibe, Liverpool beat Manchester City, 2-1 last Sunday to net their 14th win in 27 matches. Liverpool is in fifth place in the Premier League table at 14-6-7 with 48 points. Chelsea at 18-6-2 with 60 points is still the league leader while Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United rank second to fourth.

Aside from missing the match against Manchester City, Ibe will also miss matches against Burnley, Swansea City and Manchester United in Premier League action and against the Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup quarter-final.

For his senior career, Ibe has played a total of 45 matches for various clubs. He was with the Wycombe Wanderers in 2011 to 2012 before joining Liverpool in 2012. He was also loaned to Birmingham City in 2014 and Derby County in 2014 to 2015 before being recalled by his current club. For the national team, he has played for England’s youth team from 2012 to 2014.
