Liverpool star Raheem Sterling is playing his best football this season, and manager Brendan Rodgers cannot not help but notice and believe that the 20-year-old could be one of the best in the coming years

The England international already has 9 goals and 6 assists under his belt in the ongoing campaign and is the Reds’ focal point on offense.

"You'd just pay money to watch that kid,” Rodgers told Liverpoolfc.com.

"You watch how he plays football and I think he's a great role model for lots of technical players in this country - young British players that maybe for many years would have been discarded because they were technically good but maybe not as big in stature.”

The Northern Irishman even went as far as comparing Sterling to former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, whose name catapulted to superstardom at Anfield after arriving from Ajax in 2011.

"He'll become world class in the next couple of years,” he continued.

“We had Luis Suarez who was at that level, played in this team and he grew and grew with the game model and rightly went into the world-class bracket.”

Sterling recently helped his side to a comeback win in the FA Cup against Bolton Wanderers FC, providing the equalising goal.

Meanwhile, another youngster in the person of Philippe Coutinho, who netted the winner in the said game, is perceived by Rodgers to follow suit. The Brazilian has been a consistent fixture for the Merseyside outfit since being acquired from Inter Milan in 2013.

"I can see Coutinho following a similar sort of line. He might not be as prolific as Suarez was, but he's certainly on the way to that level.

"He's a wonderful, wonderful player and signing the new deal shows he's really committed to Liverpool and his development."
