Disney already got its hands full with various releases of live action super hero films. But this does not mean it has already forgot some of its timeless gold - the Disney Classics. In fact, the recent success of live action “Cinderella” has pushed the popular movie studio to greenlit more movie projects like Bill Condon’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast.”

Jon Favreau is currently busy directing with his live action adaptation of "The Jungle Book" currently set to be released April 15, 2016. The movie adaptation continues with the live action movie version of "Beauty and the Beast".

Apart from the announcement of the latest movie project of Disney, the cast was also revealed. Emma Watson, known for her role as Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter” films, will lead the star studded cast as Belle. The role of Beast and Prince was given to Dan Stevens - known for his role as Matthew Crawley in the popular TV series "Downton Abbey.”

Supporting Watson and Stevens are the following cast:

Ewan McGregor as Lumiere - the butler who became a candlestick.

Stanley Tucci as Cadenza - the maestro who became a grand piano.

Luke Evans as Gaston - the story's villain.

Josh Gad as Le Fou - Gaston's side kick.

Ian McKellen as Cogsworth - the Prince's other butler who became a clock.

Audra McDonald as Garderobe - the lady-in-waiting who became a wardrobe.

Clearly, the cast of the upcoming live action film is very impressive and how will they present themselves (spoiler alert?) when they transform into human beings at the end would be an interesting concept. Seeing and hearing (at first) Ewan Mcgregor and Ian McKellen as rival butlers is definitely a delight. That would be fun and big challenge for the director as he would have to work with these film stars (not only McKellen and McGregor) that are already considered icons of the industry.

Although the movie is set for release in 2017, the cast are already excited. Josh Gad, recently uploaded a selfie with some of the cast including its main characters, Emma Watson and Dan Stevens. Production and shooting is expected to start May in London.
