[12:49] Singer Britney Spears smiles during the launch of her lingerie collection 'The Intimate Britney Spears Spring/Summer 2015'
Madonna recently suffered a fall during her “Living For Love” concert at the 2015 Brit Awards when she was performing on stage. Two Japanese dancers from her troupe strangled her due to her elaborate Giorgio Armani cape and she fell. And now it was Britney Spears. Zayn Malik’s girlfriend Perrie Edwards’ fellow members of the Little Mix quartet recently explained why they gave up their song “Pretty Girls,” which eventually became a collaboration song of Britney Spears and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

Along with Azalea and Maegan Cottone, a musician signed to British publishing company Phrased Differently, “Pretty Girls” was written by Edwards with her British pop band mates Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. RCA released the song on May 5 as the lead single for Spears’ upcoming ninth studio album.

“Pretty Girls” is not Spears’ first collaboration song with a rapper. Her eighth studio album “Britney Jean,” which was released on Nov. 29, 2013, contained several collaboration songs including “Tik Tik Boom” with T.I. and “It Should Be Easy” with will.i.am.

In an interview The Sun, Nelson said Little Mix have been away a while because they wrote an album, sat with the record label and they thought “Pretty Girls” was not good enough. She said they recorded a whole album but because they are perfectionists and knew they could do better, they scrapped the song and started again.

Thirlwall explained, “We wrote it with Maegan Cottone, who we've written a lot of this album with. We loved the song but it wasn't really for us so we put it out there and, lo and behold, Britney wanted it.”

Little Mix has not released an album since their second studio album “Salute,” which was released on Nov. 11, 2013. Their debut studio album was “DNA,” released via Syco Music on Nov. 19, 2012 in the United Kingdom.

Recently, Little Mix released an upbeat jam “Black Magic,” whose music video features Edwards, Nelson, Thirlwall and Pinnock dressed up as school nerds inspired by “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)” singer Katy Perry.

Formerly known as Rhythmix, the Little Mix girl group was exclusively formed for “The X Factor UK” series 8 in 2011. Edwards, Nelson, Thirlwall and Pinnock became the first act in the groups category to win in the history of the U.K. show with new judge Tulisa as their winning mentor.
