Lindsay Lohan was released after only a few hours following her check in to the Century Regional Detention Facility located in Lynwood, California.

The actress was booked into the facility at 8:48 PM Sunday but was released at 3:10 AM Monday, according to the records from Sheriff's Deputy Mark Pope.

The judge from Los Angeles County ordered the actress to be in a 30 day term in the facility following a guilty plea on her violation on her current probation regarding the necklace theft accusation.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff spokesperson Steve Whitmore, the actress may probably just serve that specific order from the court for just a few hours. Whitmore reiterated that the early release from jail of Lindsay Lohan is attributed to the overcrowding of the jail and is actually a part of the law.

"It will all depend on the fluctuations of the day and whatever happens in the facility," said Whitmore.

Her early release from jail early this week is similar to what happened to her in May this year. She was sentenced to 120 days in jail but was released from the facility then stayed at home for 35 days for home confinement. This was due to overcrowding in the jail and a reward for good behaviour while in the facility.

At the moment, the Mean Girls star needs to serve 12 days every month in the county morgue in order to complete 53 more days of the required community service from the court. She is also required to present herself to 18 psychotherapy sessions. These were all ordered by Judge Stephanie Sautner.

Should the actress fail to complete the requirements that were ordered from her by the court, she will be ordered to go back to jail for 270 days.

"This is what we call putting the keys to the jail in the defendant's hands," Sautner said.

"Lindsay is now focusing on the completion of her community service obligation in order to just put everything in the past," says Steve Honig who is Lohan's spokesperson.

Judge Sautner expressed a little hope for the actress saying that if Lindsay tries her best to comply with the court requirements then her probation may lowered to something much easier to bear as early as March 29, 2012.
