Lindsay Lohan is currently battling with Chikungunya virus. The actress was diagnosed with the virus while vacationing in French Polynesia.

Page Six reports that Lindsay Lohan has unfortunately contracted the Chikungunya virus during her French Polynesian holiday. A person with this mosquito-transmitted disease, according to the World Health Organization, could suffer from fever and severe joint pain, among other unlikable symptoms. Chikungunya also does not have any cure. Treatment is solely targeted at lessening the symptoms and the associated pain. Fortunately, Lindsay is a real trooper and promises her fans that this would not affect her holidays. She also wishes everyone a happy new year.

"Before I got Chikungunya use bug spray please, God bless," she tweeted on Dec. 27. The next day, she tweeted again to update people on her condition. "Being sick is no fun. But happy new year everyone. Be safe. Love all."

Chikungunya did not hinder her from enjoying some quality time with friends either. She posted a picture of her looking happy with her friends on her Instagram and captioned this with a positive message. Lindsay Lohan said she would not let the virus get into the way of her having a "safe and happy" new year. She wishes everyone the same again: to have a positive and healthy 2015.

The actress just ended her two-month contract with the London's West End in "Speed-the-Plow." It is still unclear what she'll be busy on the next. Whatever she'll do next, she made it clear in an interview with the Observer that she has no plans of living again in Los Angeles, claiming how much she loves London. She said it's precious that she could just go for a run by herself there, while finding it amusing that her friends back in New York are probably out and partying. She also said it's the perfect place to do some growing up. The "Mean Girls" star shared that in Los Angeles, she has to constantly hear gossip about people when she turned on the news, who's pregnant and who's getting married. In contrast, in London, she never heard her name mentioned, which is quite refreshing for her, mentioning that she also developed a penchant for the BBC.
