Sewer

In bankruptcy and looking for cash, Detroit would like to lease its water utility to raise as much as $9 billion to fund basic services long term, but talks with neighboring suburban counties are stalled. Environmental and life sciences company Ecosciences Inc. (OTCQB: ECEZ) will help get rid of the second-leading cause of sewer spills in the United States: fats, oil and grease (FOG). Using bioremediation technology, Ecosciences Inc. has developed an innovative product to solve drainage problems arising from FOGs.

Grease sticks to the insides of a pipe, builds up and eventually causes blockage, which can cause a negative impact to the sewer system. A damaged wastewater system can cause public health issues, aquatic life problems and “impair the recreational use and aesthetic enjoyment of surface waters,” the California Environmental Protection Agency noted.

The product, available under the name “Eco-Logical Tablet,” can be added to wastewater systems and results to aerobic degradation of organic waste without expensive dosing equipment or hazardous chemicals.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, several wastewater system blockages can be attributed to FOG. Cities also consider it a big problem and pay a lot of money to clean the sewer spills.

Eco-Logical tablets oxygenate wastewater and create an environment where billions of bacteria spores can grow and efficiently break down waste. The by-product of aerobic degradation is carbon dioxide, a non-toxic and odourless gas.

Bioremediation is a cutting-edge technology that cleans damage from toxins and pollution. Ecosciences Inc. provides a suite of tablet-based products that start the chemical process of bioremediation. The company’s bioremediation products can be added to an array of wastewater systems, including sludge ponds, septic tanks, lagoons, farms, car washes, portable sanitation facilities, grease tanks, lakes and ponds.

Ecoscience’s other products include Tank-Eze wastewater tablets, Trap-Eze Grease Trap Tablets and Wash-Eze Car Wash Tablets. Each rejuvenates damaged wastewater systems after a buildup of organic matter.

The tablets are not only cost-effective but are an advanced green environmental remediation solution to hazardous pollutants.

Ecosciences Inc. has also launched a programme to commercialise bioremediation products in various target markets, including commercial and industrial users, municipalities, retail customers, food processors, hospitals, the janitorial supply industry, supermarkets and restaurants.

“We are focused on building, acquiring and investing in businesses around ecological and life sciences. From wastewater remediation to healthcare and more, Ecosciences is committed to building a better living environment for all people. Our bio-remediation business is just the beginning of our plan and goal to create a successful mid to large company over the long term,” Joel Falitz, Ecoscience president, said in a statement.

The company is also expanding its market outside of the United States eyeing distribution in India and China.

"Large markets, such as China and India, are key markets to enter, and we strongly believe we can secure the necessary relationships to establish distribution channels with growth potential. We are confident our initiative will ultimately be successful and translate, over the long term, to increased sales and shareholder value,” a statement from the company revealed.

Water is a fundamental human need. According to Charity Water, there are 748 million people worldwide who do not have access to clean water.

In China and India, two of the most populated countries in the world, degraded water is a problem. Ecosciences Inc. can help these nations curb environmental degradation of their water system. Ecosciences, which was founded in 2011, is currently doing business with distributors in Mexico, U.S. and New Zealand.
