The new Windows 8 tablet convertible is LG's ultimate portable workstation which brings more convenience with its thin and light form factor. As a tablet alone it weighs just 530 grams but adding the Bluetooth keyboard converting into a laptop, it weighs 792grams.

The keyboard add-on has a one-push setup button for an easier and hassle free connection. The keyboard can also connect to other devices aside from the Tab Book Duo. This newest device from LG didn't try to compete with the other present convertibles that came out in the market. It didn't try to perform various modes and angles. The Tab Book Duo comes with a kickstand to keep it standing which makes it an instant laptop.

The new LG Tab Book Duo is equipped with a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display and features a USB 3.0 port and a micro HDMI port on its externals. It runs on Windows 8.1 and is packed with a quad-core Intel chipset for a formidable performance. In addition, the Tab Book Duo boasts of its internal battery which is said to perform for 11 hours in a single charging, Phone Arena reports.

Last July, LG launched the hybrid Tab Book 11, which is an 11.6-inch keyboard toting tablet/notebook that is equipped with Intel's Haswell Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, two USB 3.0 ports and a microSD card reader. Unlike the new Tab Book Duo, the older hybrid uses Android 4.2 as its platform. The Tab Book 11 has a 1920x1080 resolution display and comes with a sliding keyboard.

Meanwhile, in South Korea, the Tab Book Duo Windows 8 tablet convertible costs 740,000KRW or roughly around US$670. The device comes in two colour variants: black and white versions plus its matching Bluetooth keyboard. According to Gadget Folder, consumers will also get a Microsoft wireless mouse as a freebie when they make their purchase on December 15 to December 22. LG hasn't revealed yet the Tab Book Duo's future releases in other countries. Furthermore, details on the device's spec-sheet haven't been revealed by the Korean powerhouse.
