It is time to celebrate for owners of LG Optimus L9 as their Android territory expands from 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to 4.1.2. Jelly Bean. European users of the device can now experience the Project Butter and Google Now features.

LG confirms the release of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the LG Optimus L9 P760 and it is available now in Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Portugal, and the Baltics region. The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean has the build number V20B and can be downloaded using FOTA or Firmware-Over-the-Air.

"We are pleased to inform all users of Optimus L9 which started the distribution of Jelly Bean upgrade for Optimus L9. At the time the update is now available for the open market. While in Italy Optimus L9 is distributed exclusively by the operators, it is possible that some users who purchased the first Optimus L9 distributed case received the upgrade to Jelly Bean in open market. Updates to Jelly Bean customized for operators will be distributed after you have completed the approval process for the operator," said the official announcement from LG.

FOTA Procedure: Connect the device to Wi-Fi and go to "Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check for Updates."

PC Update Procedure: Connect the device to the computer via USB cable and use the B2C or Business to Consumer application for PC downloaded from the Support section of the LG Web site.

Update for Rooted LG Optimus L9: Users of the rooted device can grab the official KDZ file and flash it manually. Visit the XDA official thread for the details.
