LG has officially announced the LG G5 flagship smartphone on Sunday. Its release date, pricing and availability details in the U.S. have been revealed.

LG G5 comes with a modular design that allows users to connect various accessories like VR headset, point-and-shoot digital camera, DAC module for enhanced audio experience and others. It is the first LG G series smartphone to arrive with metal and glass combination design.

The LG G5 is packed with a 5.3-inch IPS LCD that supports Quad HD resolution. It comes with the Always-On Display feature that allow users to view alerts like missed calls and SMS at a glance.

The Snapdragon 820 SoC powers the LG G5 along with 4 GB of RAM. The native storage of the smartphone is 32 GB. The smartphone has already topped the AnTuTu benchmarks with a score of 133,054.

On its expandable storage, users can add up to 200 GB of microSD card. It comes with dual-camera system on its rear panel that comprises of a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras.

Other LG G5 specs include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 3G, 4G LTE, NFC, v4.2 Bluetooth and Android 6.0 OS. It houses a battery of 2800 mAh capacity. It will be available in colors like Titan, Pink, Silver and Gold

According to Phone Arena, the LG G5’s price will be similar to the launch price of its predecessor, the LG G4. It is expected to carry a price tag of $599. The publication has also claimed that the smartphone is going to be available for purchase by April.

The LG G5 will be available in the U.S. through AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. As of this writing, none of these carriers have revealed pricing plans for the LG G5.

All the four colour models will be available with AT&T and Sprint. The Titan and Silver are the only colour variants that will be available with Verizon. In Australia, Telstra and Optus have confirmed to support the LG G5, but there is no information available on their pricing plans yet.
