Best Buy, one of the largest retailers in the US, will start taking pre-orders for the new LG G5 from March 18, its landing page has revealed.

The G5 device was first announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in late February, with LG confirming that the LG G5 along with its "Friends" would go on sale in early April in the US. While the retailer is yet to confirm the price and exact date and availability or shipment of LG’s first modular smartphone, LG has said major US carriers and retailers will sell the newly launched G5.

The LG G4 successor is also already available for pre-order from Amazon U.K at GBP 529 (AU$1003).

In Canada, Rogers will offer a free CAM Plus camera accessory worth CA$100 with every pre-order of the LG G5 as long as supplies last. The CAM Plus adds analog camera controls and an auxiliary battery once it is attached to the phone.

Apart from Rogers, the LG G5 will also be offered by other major Canadian carriers, including Bell and Telus along with regional carriers like Eastlink, MTS, SaskTel, Videotron and Wind Mobile.

The LG G5 adorns an aluminum unibody design and comes with a 5.3-inch Quad HD display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage up to 2TB.

Other LG G5 specs include a 2,800 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 functionality and a dual rear camera module with a standard 16-megapixel sensor, along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens.

Announced alongside the LG G5, Samsung’s flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, went on sale on March 11. Both AT&T and T-Mobile have announced a Buy One, Get One (BOGO) free deal for Samsung’s newly launched smartphones. The promotional deals will be valid for a limited period.
