This year, the Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona will see the unveiling of a few of the most awaited devices in 2016. Two of the leading South Korean smartphone manufacturers, LG and Samsung, are expected to unveil their flagship devices at the trade show. Latest rumours indicate that LG’s flagship, the LG G5 2016, would come with two rear cameras.

The new LG G5 is expected to be launched next month with a completely new design and some unique features. LG has apparently opted for a redesign of the device, deviating from the look and feel of its predecessors, reports The Verge.

One of the new design alterations is a new accessory slot at the bottom. Its function has yet to be determined. The relocation of the volume button can be taken as another indication of design change. LG is believed to be repositioning the volume button to the left side of the handset. The handset seems to also feature a USB Type-C port at the bottom.

LG’s first flagship of 2016 is also rumoured to feature a twin rear-facing camera module. Last week, Droid Life revealed images of the alleged LG G5 prototype suggesting that the device will house dual main camera units. An earlier report by Venture Beat also mentioned that the G5 is expected to sport a dual-lens configuration on the rear. This means the 16-megapixel main camera will get a 135-degree wide-angle capability.

The LG G5 announcement and release date is expected at a press conference on Feb. 21, a day before the opening ceremony of the MWC 2016. Other LG G5 specs include the following: a 5.6-inch QHD display with Gorilla Glass 4, a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a flexible touchscreen.
