There is no official news yet about the G4, but with LG's consistent job in improving its flagship devices the G4 might be in the works. It is no rumour though that the company is already working on a 2K and 4K smartphone display to counter rival Samsung which is already aiming for the Sharp Aquos Crystal on its next devices, Iknowtoday.com reports.

The Korean tech company has experienced an increase in revenue growth by nearly 112 percent with its mobile sales success. Many expect that the company will be investing big chunk of money into the G4. Based on Pocket-Lint's report, speculations about the new device depend on what consumers want and what consumers expect.

Release Date

Looking back, LG announced the G3 in May and had it released by June this year and many expect that the company will follow the same path. LG is expected to do it a little earlier than May or could possibly do the announcement at the Mobile World Congress which will be held on March 2015. However, with Apple and Google's possible launches of its own LG might announce a bit earlier than expected.

Bezel Free Screen

To see a device with a bezel free screen is also anticipated. It is speculated that the G4 could come with an edge to edge 2K display with 1440x2560 pixel resolution.

In an early example, LG showed a new 5.3-inch Full HD LCD screen. But more importantly, it has a 0.7mm bezel that is amazingly narrower than the thickness of a credit card. LG simply calls the technology which completely seals the edges as Neo Edge.

Processor and Connectivity

The G4 is expected to have a 64-bit chip as it is expected to be the next gen chips for 2015. Speculations also say that the next Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip could also feature CAT 6 LTE which would speed up connection up to 300Mbps. Realistically speaking, in the U.K. only 150Mbps will be supported by networks by next year.

Design and Build

LG is expected to follow the metal build trend joining Samsung which will be releasing full metal unibody smartphones. Apparently the metal body will be the norm for new devices in 2015. Spectators also hope that the G4 will feature IP67 waterproofing.

Battery Life

If G4 will be equipped with high resolution screen, or if it will be powered by top of the line processor, then LG must come up with a battery that will withstand the stressful specs. A battery loaded with power and could last for at least two days is expected.

Camera

Speculations say that the G4 will boast of a laser autofocus and optical image stabilization equipped camera. Users can also expect a top selfie camera of at least 5 megapixels.
