The most-awaited LG G3 was released on May 27, 2014, while the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 were released on March and February 2014 respectively. While both HTC One M8 and Galaxy S5 were well received by both users and critics alike, the LG G3, on the other hand is making its presence felt with positive reviews from across the globe.

LG has stepped up the LG G3 smartphone with stunning features and great enhancements from its predecessor, the LG G2.

Display, Design, Exterior and Size

The LG G3 has a 5.5 inches IPS LCD display, with an impressive resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. Whereas the HTC One M8 comes with a relatively smaller 5 inches Super LCD3 screen, with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. The Galaxy S5, on the other hand, comes with a Super AMOLED 5.1 inches display, with the same resolution as the HTC One M8. The HTC One M8 is capable of supporting up to 441 ppi of pixel density and the Galaxy S5 can support up to 432 ppi; both the pixel densities are much lesser than the 538 ppi of the latest LG G3.

Hardware and Software

The LG G3 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz and it comes with a 2 GB of RAM (if opted for 16 GB of storage) and a 3 GB of RAM (If opted for 32 GB of storage). On the other hand, the Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 are powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with the same 2 GB of RAM respectively.

Although all three handset share the same OS configuration i.e Android v4.4.2 KitKat; the LG G3 uses Optimus UI, whereas the Galaxy S5 uses TouchWiz UI and the HTC One M8 uses HTC Sense 6.0 UI.

Camera

The LG G3 sports a 13 MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED (dual tone) flash and a 2.1 MP front-facing camera. The LG G3 can shoot 4K (3,840 x 2,160) videos. The Samsung Galaxy S5 houses a 16 MP rear-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. This phone includes the following features autofocus, LED flash, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, and HDR.

Out of all the handsets, the HTC One M8 holds the record for better front-facing camera; the handset sports a whopping 5 MP front-facing camera unit, whereas the camera at the rear is a unique 4 UltraPixels camera. The main camera has a total of 2 lenses (Duo Camera). The LG G3 features a whopping 3000mAh user-replaceable battery unit. The HTC One M8 and Galaxy S5 house 2600mAh (non-removable) and 2800mAh (user-replaceable) battery units respectively.
