The multitude of Android devices often comes off as overwhelming especially for consumers looking for the right handset. Among these Android devices, the LG G3 has been getting considerable attention with some noting as the Android superphone. However, some also are disputing such claim. Is LG G3 worth the purchase? Can it hold its ground against upcoming releases and its Apple counterpart?

Following the IFA 2014 and the series of announcements that come with it, AndroidPIT notes that LG G3 can still be considered the "best" handset to get at present. The report noted that before the IFA, the LG G3 was named the best smartphone following a series of evaluations. After the event, the following handsets have been added to the Android lineup: Huawei Ascend Mate 7, Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact.

The evaluation did not include the Galaxy Note 4 as it still pending for release. Some consider it to be among the top phones this year but until the release, the evaluation will be based on what the testers have evaluated. However, According to the Brighthand, some still dispute the positive regard LG G3 has been receiving. The screen does offer ultra high resolution but the performance remains open for debate.

There are several reasons why many consider LG G3 being on top of the list: excellent battery life, swift user interface and fantastic design. The device also comes with the following features: Android 4.4.2 KitKat, 5.5 inch, QHD IPS+ LCD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels, 534 ppi), quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 GHz, 2 GB (with 16 GB version) and 3 GB (with 32 GB version), 13MP camera and 3,000 mAh battery.

A user commented, however, on Brighthand, disputing the claims. According to the post: "This kills me. No flagship device with a Snapdragon 801 should be doing this. I don't know whether it's poor software optimization, or the QHD display, but this should NOT be happening with this price point and this processor."

The screen was also an overkill for some citing that the 5.5-inch screen is too mich. The display also exhausts much of the battery power contradicting the supposedly excellent battery life. Many are still waiting to test out the Galaxy Note 4 before naming the Android winner for the year.
