LG's new Android tablet G Pad 8.3 finally reached the market to challenge its main competitor, Samsung Galaxy tabs. But what are the selling points of LG G Pad that makes it great than Galaxy Tab at $349?

External Components

LG G Pad 8.3 comes with physical power key, headphone jack and a microSD slot supporting up to 64 GB of external storage. The exterior also features microUSB charging port, brushed metal design and rich stereo speakers for multimedia.

Software Technology

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean runs the LG G Pad which a little disappointing with the Android 4.3 version already available. But you can see several features on G Pad from LG G2 such as QSlide multi-tasking power, QuickMemo notepad and Knock Knock exclusive feature.

Due to the large size of the tablet, QSlide, Slide Aside and QuickMemo functions better than with smaller LG device. Other features such as Smart Screen and Smart Video are definitely handy as you watch videos or reading electronic books. However, the remote control function LG Quick Remote makes it an awkward oversized controller.

Behind the Curtains

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.7 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM support the entire functionality of LG G Pad 8.3 while Adreno 320 powers the graphics rendering of the tablet. It boasts an impressive 4600 mAh battery pack that brings longer lasting performance compared to most Android tablets available in stores which can last for more than a day with casual e-book reading, music playback and some video playback.

Camera Prowess

Like with common Android tablets, LG G Pad 8.3 features 5 MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera shooter. But the rear camera offer dozens of shooting modes, manual settings and lots of functionalities. However, don't expect it can match G2's optical powers or produce G2's image capturing quality.

LG G Pad 8.3 camera unit are more focused on software rather than hardware modules due to the lacking of Optical Image Stabilisation and often deliver washed out, faded or blurry images.
