Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio has apparently joined the selfie bandwagon, sparking Twitter storm anew.

Last week, the 41-year-old actor acted in his capacity as the United Nations Messenger of Peace and showed his staunch support for climate action by signing the Paris Agreement. More than 170 global leaders also signed the landmark agreement, including Australian environment minister Greg Hunt, US Secretary of State John Kerry and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The UN Twitter page shared “The Revenant” actor’s selfie, captioning it, “@LeoDiCaprio takes his UN Messenger of Peace duties seriously! Thanks for the #ParisAgreement support!”

DiCaprio is the second actor whose selfie has been much talked about recently, following the first photo of such nature taken by the Olsen twins. Earlier in April, Ashley and Mary-Kate, known for their anti-social media stance, posted a candid shot to celebrate their fragrance My Nirvana by Elizabeth and James. In the selfie, posted in Sephora’s Instagram account, the twins wrote, “Rise and shine. First public selfie ever @ElizandJames #SephoraTakeover”

In addition to his much-talked about selfie, DiCaprio also got his share of media attention this week for being seen with London-based fashion model Roxy Horner in New York City. People magazine reports that the couple was having dinner with the actor’s friend, Lukas Haas, and Roxy’s pal at Serendipity 3 restaurant.

“They came in very low-key, all wearing baseball caps,” a source told People. “She was very attached to Leo. She was definitely with him, she was holding on to his arm. They were affectionate.”

This is not the first time that the pair has been spotted together in public. Earlier in February, DiCaprio was caught with Horner at London's Chiltern Firehouse. Whilst it triggered dating rumours, Horner denied the claims in Twitter, but has since deleted her posts.
