Many fans were delighted to see “Prison Break” return to Fox after several years. It was actually “The Flash” that helped revive the project, although “Legends of Tomorrow” provided some limitations to the filming process.

Spoiler alert! This article contains "Legends of Tomorrow" spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

Wentworth Miller was at the Television Critics Association winter press tour recently and shared that he has not seen “Prison Break” co-star Dominic Purcell in about five years. When they met again on the set of “The Flash,” they talked about old times as well as the possibility of revisiting “Prison Break,” writes TVLine.

The “Prison Break” revival project commenced eight months after “The Flash” premiered on The CW. Both Miller and Purcell also co-starred in “Legends of Tomorrow,” making it difficult to film all 10 episodes of “Prison Break.” According to executive producer Paul T. Scheuring, the creative team needed to return and modify things after the two actors were apparently stuck.

Scheuring shared hat he wrote a very long-winded road map for the “Prison Break” revival but they did not have enough time. Instead, they conflated two of the episodes into one. He added that the upcoming season is a very dense, tight and close-ended story with nonstop thrill, a cliffhanger and a huge revelation.

Both Miller and Purcell also co-starred in “Legends of Tomorrow,” taking on the roles of Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and Mick Rory/Heat Wave, respectively. Snart last appeared in the Season 1 finale, where he sacrificed himself to save the rest of the team. However, the time-traveling feature of the series allows Reverse-Flash to bring back Captain Cold. Miller said that Snart may return to the storyline as a villain, very much like how he was in “The Flash” Season 1, notes ComicBookMovie.

Miller added that Captain Cold may be disappointed when he meets Heat Wave, his former partner-in-crime, who has changed into an unselfish heroic figure. The two characters will have a major interaction soon.

The new season of “Prison Break” is set to launch on Apr. 4, 2017 on Fox. “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” will returns from its mid-season break on Jan. 24, 2017 on The CW. In Australia, it airs on SyFy. More updates and details are expected soon.
