When the 25-year-old Australian and “The Wolf of Wall Street” actress Margot Robbie was filming a sex scene with handsome Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård for the movie “The Legend of Tarzan,” things got a little bit weird.

Director David Yates recently told Entertainment Weekly that Robbie, who plays Jane, definitely left a mark on Tarzan, played by Skarsgård.

“It was sort of an earthy, sensual moment of her enjoying sex with Alex, and the only bruise he picked up during the entire shoot was probably that punch from Margot. Which says a lot about her feistiness,” Yates said.

Robbie kind of roughed up Skarsgård during their steamy moment as the director wanted Robbie to give a slap or punch Skarsgård while making love. However, she took it one level up and made that punch count. Surely, Robbie’s Jane will be way tougher than all other Janes in previous Tarzan movies.

“It was very important that we didn’t want it to feel archaic or dated, where it’s like, tough guy has to save the poor girl. You have to feel that she’s strong and independent, and when you cast Margot, you’ll definitely get that,” said Skarsgård.

When Yates had the idea of making a Tarzan movie, the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” director knew perfectly well that he wanted a Jane who would not only sizzle in the chemistry with Tarzan but would also fend for herself in the Congolian wilderness. Finally, he found Robbie perfect for the role.

“If you enter the jungle with anybody, you want to go with Margot Robbie. She’s practical and she’s smart, and she’s resourceful. And she can take care of herself,” said Yates.

“The Legend of Tarzan” is expected to hit Australian theatres on June 30.
