Based on leaked images of the iPhone 6s’ internal content, the Apple’s upcoming handset may come with a new NFC chip and 16GB of memory.

One of the most anticipated smartphones this year has no launch date yet as of the moment, but rumors suggest that the company will launch the phone along with a bigger version named, the iPhone 6s Plus this September. The rumors regarding the bigger version were due to the release of the bigger version of last year’s iPhone 6.

Leaked images from 9to5Mac show that the iPhone 6s will include lesser chips than previous models but that doesn’t mean that the device will become less efficient as well.

The leaked images show that the iPhone 6s may get a new NFC chip from NXP which is labeled 66VP2, an upgrade from NXP 65V10. It’s not yet clear what the new NFC chips may bring but experts claim that it will remove the need for a separate element processor, which means a reduced chip in the iPhone 6s.

Reports from 9to5 Mac say that one section of the board that had an excess of 10 components has been reduced down to 3 main chips, cutting the number of parts and increasing the power of the ones that remain. The reduced components will benefit the CPU, flash memory and other parts of the handset by giving them a similar or even faster, processing.

Both base models of the iPhone 6 come in a 16gB storage option. However, many 16GB iPhone users have complained that this amount of storage memory is not enough. Other storage capacity options include 64GB and 128GB.

Previous iPhone handsets tell that the “S” model does not bring any change aside from size compared to the base model. Rumors suggest that the iPone 6s may be 0.13mm thicker, 0.16mm taller and 0.13mm wider than the iPhone 6.

Usually, the "S" model of the iPhone does not bring along major external design changes to a handset, and it is expected to be the same in the case of the iPhone 6s. However, rumors suggest that the iPhone 6s may be 0.13mm thicker than its predecessor. Similarly, the iPhone 6s is also estimated to be 0.16mm taller and 0.13mm wider than the iPhone 6. These slight changes would be hardly visible to the human eye.
