The biggest traffic was centered in Moscow, Russia on November 8, as 86 jaw dropping candidates battled it out to win the most prestigious beauty pageant-the Miss Universe 2013.

It must have been hard for the credible pool of judges to choose amongst the long-legged beauties all over the globe. Maria Gabriela Isler, a Venezuelan model, bagged the highest award, earning her the title of Miss Universe.

Did we not mention that Venezuela is home to natural beauty queens? The country has already 7 titles under its belt, (for Miss Universe alone) not to mention other equally popular pageants such as Miss World. And while Venezuela seemingly racks awards like it were just pieces of candies, other Latina filled countries are also veterans in the pageant, having earned the higher spots in the contest.

During this year's Miss Universe pageant, 7 out of the 16 ladies were Latinas namely: Miss Ecuador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and eventually Miss Venezuela. After giving the other girls the axe, the Top 10 still included a majority of the latina hotties. During the final stretch of the pageant, the Latinas once again proved their prowess in carrying themselves by besting out others, as 4 Latinas and one Asian were left.

What is it with these sun-kissed beauties that always get them into the higher ranks of prestigious beauty pageants? We have a couple of suppositions:

1) They have close to perfect bodies (highly contestable since all contestants have it)

2) They're amiable, making them the highly noticeable.

3) They have the beauty queen gene. (Probably the most reliable answer, as they really look like they were hardwired to strut the catwalk)

Next year's Miss Universe shall be held in yet another haven for the stunning Latinas: Fortaleza, Brazil. Would it still be the reign of the sun-kissed chicas? Or will powerful contenders from other continent beat them? Let's see in 2014.
