The Apple iPhone 7 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2016. Hence, the rumour mill is consistently spilling beans on its purported features. Since the past few months, rumours have suggested that the iPhone 7 will not be featuring 3.5 mm headphone jack. However, the latest leaked photo debunks the rumour as it shows the presence of an audio jack.

A leaked photo of the Lightening cable assembly was first spotted on Weibo, a micro-blogging site from China. It clearly reveals that there is dedicated spacing for a Lightening port as well as a headphone jack, Apple Insider reported.

The previous iPhone 7 rumours have stated that the removal of headphone jack would allow the Cupertino company to release the iPhone 7 with slimmer for factor. Moreover, it will also allow the manufacturers to accommodate a larger battery inside the phone.

In addition to this, the axing of 3.5 mm audio jack hints that the iPhone 7 would be sporting a waterproof body. As far as listening to music is concerned, previous rumours have stated that the iPhone 7 without its usual 3.5 mm audio jack would allow users to connect headphones through the Lightning port. Rumours have also suggested that users would be able to listen to the music wirelessly by making use of Bluetooth EarPods.

Recently, a leaked schematic of the alleged iPhone 7 Pro had surfaced. It revealed that the smartphone houses a dual camera setup on its rear panel. The three dots present on the bottom portion of the rear panel is speculated to belong to a Smart Connector. This feature may allow users to recharge the smartphone, while they listen to music by connecting earphones to the Lightning port.

The iPhone 7 release date is speculated to happen in September this year. The current flagship from Apple, iPhone 6S, was launched with a price tag of $649 (AU$866) for its base model. The Apple iPhone 7 is also speculated to launch with a starting price of $649 (AU$866).
