The producers have released a new video of “The Last Kingdom.” The video compiles some of the best scenes of Brida, the character who was initially with the protagonist Uhtred in the first season.

[Spoiler alert]

The video is posted on the official Facebook page of the TV series. It begins with the scene where Brida (Emily Cox) and Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) are locked up in a Saxon cell while Beocca (Ian Hart) tries to pacify them. While the protagonist has the right to be angry, it is his partner who throws food at the priest and complains about the injustice.

Perhaps the most memorable moment for Brida is when they captured Ubba’s (Rune Temte) sorcerer Storri (Henning Valin Jakobsen). The humiliation Brida inflicted on the old man, using a branch to good effect, was so severe that he had to hide it from everyone.

Brida was a loyal companion to Uhtred, but she didn’t hold back when it came to pointing out his mistakes. She is a strong minded woman who speaks her mind and prefers the company of Gods to “stupid men.”

Cox will be reprising her role as Brida in “The Last Kingdom” Season 2. The character, however, is no longer with Uhtred. She is with the Danes, but has friendly relations with her former lover.

Filming for the second season began in June. The TV series will now be released on Netflix after the phenomenal success of the first season. After suffering many injustices, Uhtred is finally in a position of power and is expected to fight for his rights in the next season.

“The Last Kingdom” Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime this year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. More details about the show are expected to be announced in the coming months.
