A few brief scenes of “The Last Kingdom” season 2 have been released online as a part of a teaser video of all the TV shows to look forward to from BBC Two in 2017. The scenes show the protagonist Uhtred of Bebbanburg.

The video has been released on the official Facebook page of BBC Two. The fans will have to wait for some time before they see Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon). The character finds himself in trouble yet again, and can be seen as a captive.

It is not clear who has captured Uhtred and for what purpose, but one of the action sequences featured in the video teases him fighting his way out of his predicament. So, the hero may once again emerge victorious despite the odds against him.

More scenes from the next season shows Uhtred riding a horse with two other characters. There is another scene from the action sequence in which the character is seen being escorted by men, with his hands tied behind his back.

The final scene from “The Last Kingdom” season 2 featured in the video shows Uhtred with a painful look on his face, as he looks up at a female character. Is that Brida (Emily Cox) in the scene? The two lovers parted ways in the first season, but remain close friends. Their relationship may become more complicated this year, with the war of the Saxons and the Danes.

Uhtred has sacrificed a lot, and has put up with a lot in the first season, but was able to deliver with his skills on the battlefield. He is finally in a position of power this year, but the task at hand is still challenging.
