Lana Del Rey released on May 26 the newest single titled "Shades of Cool" from her upcoming second album, "Ultraviolence." The new track was done in collaboration with Rick Nowells, the Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer who also helped with Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness" and "Young and Beautiful."

Lana Del Rey debuted "Shades of Cool" with the iTunes pre-sale launch, produced by The Black Key's Dan Auerbach on Memorial Day. The new track's sounds and themes are still very unique to the "Young and Beautiful" singer. The song showcases Del Rey's gloomy vibes, lo-fi vocals, cinematic chorus, and jazzy undertones, according to Music Times.

Shades of Cool is a follow-up to her previous single titled "Westcoast," which came out early May. Lana Del Rey's third studio album titled "Ultraviolence" will be available via Interscope records come June 17.

Del Rey had a busy week when after she released her new track, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian invited her over to sing for the couple's pre-wedding party at the Palace of Versailles on May 23. The "Blue Jeans" singer dispelled the rumours that she was paid $2.8 million to sing for the couple. Del Rey said she will never ask payment from a friend to sing, according to TMZ on Wednesday, May 28.

Kim and Kanye had been a fan of Del Rey for some time. West even had a band cover the songstress' "Young and Beautiful" during his proposal to Kardashian.

The new track tells the story of a man, who is a proud owner of an "unbreakable heart," according to MTV News. The lyrics continue on how the person who loves the "invincible man," can't change his ways, and break through his world which is in shades of cool.
