Looks like veteran singer, Bette Midler is no way letting Lady Gaga off the hook, as of yet and the battle between the divas continues.

Midler has reportedly been aghast, unimpressed with Lady Gaga’s mermaid-in-a-wheel performance in Australia last week.

The "Alejandro" hitmaker, who propelled to fame in mid-2000 was seen rolling on to the stage in a wheelchair, dressed in a mermaid.

The 80s diva, however, blasts on Lady Gaga, claiming it was no original as she pulled out the same gimmick in 1980.

Taking to Twitter, Midler made sure Lady Gaga knows how she feels about it.

"I've been doing singing mermaid in a wheelchair since 1980. You can keep the meat dress and the firecracker t--s," Midler was quoted telling Gaga in one of her tweets by People magazine.

“Mermaid’s mine!,” Midler tweeted, slamming Gaga.

But the pop diva asserted she’s no copy-cat and she didn’t imitate Midler’s 80s stunt in her latest performance Down Under.

At least, nothing she knew about.

“I had no idea that she did that and I’m a huge Bette Midler Fan,” Lady Gaga told Access Hollywood, according to the Toronto Sun.

“(It was) not (a Midler tribute) in the beginning because I did not know she’d done it but I do now, and I think it’s great,” ady Gaga continued, defending herself.

The 25-year-old singer-songwriter said that she obviously feel(s) “connected to women in theatre and women from the past.”

As to why she did a wheelchair?

Lady gaga noted, “Maybe we’re just cut from the same cloth. I couldn’t hop around in that tail so I just stuck myself in a wheelchair.”

It did not take long for Midler however and soon she had a “change of heart”, noted People.

In a tweet, Middler quipped, “Let’s drink this over at the Emmy’s in September! Fabulous mermaids can co-exist!”

Well at least fans of both divas from their respective generations have something to look forward to come September.
