The Miami Heat have denied offering veteran point guard Goran Dragic and third-year forward Justise Winslow to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a potential Kyrie Irving trade. The Cavs are expecting a sizeable haul that includes an established starter, a blue chip prospect on a rookie contract and a chest of draft picks.

The Sun Sentinel reported Friday that the Heat front office has denied offering Dragic and Winslow. "According to a party familiar with the situation, the Cavaliers' current demands exceed what the Heat, and apparently several other teams, believe is feasible. The Heat, according to a party familiar with his situation, intrigue Irving because of the front-office leadership of Pat Riley and the coaching of Erik Spoelstra," wrote Ira Winderman.

The Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs constitute Irving's wish list of preferred destinations. According to several reports, after 20 teams made inquiries to the Cleveland Cavaliers front office upon learning of Irving's trade request, up to six teams have offers on the table.

Kyrie Irving Trade: Cavs front office in no hurry

Despite Irving's desire to play elsewhere next season, the Cavaliers front office won't be hurried into making a trade. For owner Dan Gilbert and new general manager Koby Altman, it's about securing the best haul of assets that would set them up for a future without Irving and LeBron James.

Gilbert made no bones about it while addressing the press, stating that he expects Irving to be a part of the pre-season training camp in September.

"These things are fluid. We think that Kyrie Irving is one of the best guards in the NBA. He was part of a championship, three years straight to the Finals and we value his talent significantly. Right now Kyrie Irving is under contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers for two or three more years. As of now he's one of our two or three best players. Sure, I expect him to be in camp."

Kyrie Irving, drafted No. 1 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011, averaged a career-high tally of 25.2 points, and 5.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds in his sixth season. The talented point guard, after winning the NBA championship in 2016, wants to step out of LeBron James' shadow and embrace his own squad.
