The Kardashian Family Christmas card may have been cancelled this year but Kris Jenner is trying to make up for it by posting a series of photos to celebrate the holiday. Kris took to Instagram to post an animated and a real-life edited version of her Christmas greetings.

The first Christmas post that the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch posted featured animated avatars of herself and some of her kids taken from Kim Kardashian's Hollywood game. Animated representations of herself along with Kim, Khloe and Kourtney stood wearing Santa Clause Hats. The photo also had a text greeting that said: "Merry Christmas Dolls"

On Christmas eve, Kris posted yet another greeting to take the place of the annual Christmas card. This time, she edited an old photo of herself and her daughters and placed Santa hats on their heads while she had a big red bow on her hair. Kris sat in the middle and she was flanked on both sides by Kendall, Kim, Kylie, Khloe and Kourtney. All of her daughters were blowing kisses and Kris had a face full off kiss marks. Everyone wore white in the photo, which set off the red Santa hats. The photo also featured the text "Merry Christmas."

The Kardashian family have cancelled their annual Christmas card this year for the first time in decades. As reported by The Mirror, Kim Kardashian told Glamour UK that the family ran out of time to shoot a photo for a Christmas card this year. Various reports have come out since then blaming Kim's husband Kanye Wets for the lack of a Kardashian Family Christmas card this year. Speculations reported by The Daily Mail stated that Kanye wants his own card with Kim and North instead of joining the clan. Another theory revolves around the split between Bruce and Kris Jenner.

The family Christmas card has been a source of several issues over the years including last year's card, which left out the men in the family. As documented in "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Rob Kardashian didn't want to be in the card because he wasn't comfortable about his weight.

At the time, Khloe was about to serve Lamar with divorce papers, which meant that it would have been odd to still have him on the card like in previous years. Scott couldn't care less about being in it or not but Bruce Jenner was the only one who was adamant that he should be in his family's card. He was offended that the girls decided to take a photo by themselves but they reasoned that it was the photographer's idea. In the end they all decided that he should be in it but another issue emerged when famed photographer David LaChapelle refused to include Kourtney and Scott's kids in the photo. In the end, after lots of tension on the set, Kourtney had her way and her kids were finally allowed to join the photo.

It remains to be seen if the annual tradition is lost forever or if the famous family is only skipping a year. The photos have evolved over the years as the family changed. Back in the '80s Robert Kardashian was in the Christmas cards before he and Kris divorced. Eventually, Bruce and his kids were included and the births of more Jenner children were documented. Scott Disick and Lamar Odom eventually made appearances along with Disick's children.
