The woes of Heather Cho, the daughter of the Korean Air chairman and resigned vice president of the air carrier, are not over yet. Now serving a one-year jail term for the macadamia nut air rage controversy and forced to apologise for her bratty behaviour, Cho is now facing a lawsuit in the US.

Kim Do-Hee, the flight attendant she allegedly mistreated, filed a civil lawsuit for compensation against the former VP and Korean Air, reports Washington Post. Kim claimed that Cho physically and verbally abused her as the aircraft was leaving for Seoul on Dec 5.

Weinstein Law Firm and Kobre & Kim, which represent stewardess, blamed Cho for the extensive damage that she allegedly caused on the career, reputation and emotional well-being of Kim. The lawyers filed the lawsuit with the Supreme Court of New York State, Queens County.

Besides her charge that she was physically and verbally abused by the chairman’s daughter, Kim also said that she was pressured by Korean Air to lie to Korean probers and appear with Cho in public to save the ex-VP’s sagging image. In previous media reports, Kim said that Cho threw a tablet at her that contains the service manual of the air carrier. The tablet hit her.

Kim still works for Korean Air. The chairman had promised that the company would not retaliate on airline employees who testify at the investigation. It did not release any comment on Kim’s lawsuit which was triggered by Cho being served macadamia nuts in a plastic bag instead of a bowl.

The lawyers did not specify how much is the damage that Kim is seeking, reports Time.
