The “Metal Gear” series is synonymous with the name of its creator Hideo Kojima, whose name has been removed from every copy of the latest installation “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.” The creator of the series finally bids farewell to the series in a 10-minute video sure to touch the hearts of “Metal Gear” fans.

“Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” is currently one of the best reviewed games this year, but it’s not without its bad history. Aside from having a good track record when it comes to sales and reviews, the game is also known for the separation of Kojima and the game’s publisher, Konami. Kojima leaving the company signaled the end of both Kojima Productions and the “Silent Hills” horror game that was supposed to be made with Guillermo del Toro.

Although Konami and Kojima ended terms on a bitter note, the latter showed a friendlier attitude towards the series creator this week, praising him for his work on the latest game. The publisher even posted a new “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” video that looks like a tribute to both the series and its creator.

The first part of the video seems to appreciate the talent, creativity and work of Kojima. As the video ends on an emotional note as is shows the time the creator visited the family of a “Metal Gear” fan that passed away. It wrote, "One final report to a very special person," Kojima visits the home of Sean Paul Gillespie, a fan who lost the battle with cancer back in February 2015, at just 21.” Kojima then apologised for taking time in making the game, but he also said proudly that it was finally complete.

“Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” has the makings of the best game in the series, but it is not without a little fault. Eurogamer reports that the game’s online capabilities are a bit sluggish, noting that it takes some time to connect to the server. Luckily, this problem can be patched up with a few server tweaks.
