Currently filming for Guy Ritchie’s “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur,” Charlie Hunnam is looking hot as ever for his next big role on the big screen. Richie’s Arturian remake is Hunnam’s second lead role after Guillermo del Toro’s summer hit film “Pacific Rim.”

Best known for his FX's biker drama series role as Jax Teller, the British hunk wanted to work with del Toro even before landing the lead role in the science fiction monster film. He revealed that he even auditioned to “Hellboy 2” but the role of the lead villain, Prince Nuada, did not fit and so he waited for the right role until he was offered the role Raleigh Becket in the 2013 movie.

“I was shooting “Sons Of Anarchy” until two weeks before we started shooting “Pacific Rim,” and Guillermo said [puts on Mexican accent] "My friend, I need you to show up looking like a man capable of saving the world!" I thought, "Aw, f---" because you know, f---ing Brad Pitt ruined it for everyone,” Hunnam has been quoted as saying by GQ.

He added that after Pitt appeared on “Fight Club” with his shirts off he already ruined every actor’s chance to look as good as him. So in order to keep his promise to the Mexican director and to accept the “hot shirtless guy” challenge he would go to the gym for two and half hours after shooting “Sons of Anarchy” for 14-15 hours a day.

Meanwhile, Charlie Hunnam is set to work with Brad Pitt’s Plan B big-screen adaptation of David Grann’s book, “The Lost City of Z.” Starring opposite “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson and “American Sniper” actress Sienna Miller, the blond star will play real life British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett.

“The Lost City of Z” chronicles an explorer’s adventure when he disappeared in the 1920 while searching for a mystical city in the lush jungle of Amazon in Brazil. To be directed by James Gray, Hunnam’s role was first offered to “Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch but the star declined because of his comittment to Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
