Andy Murray and Kim Sears are man and wife. The Scotland born tennis star got married to his long-time girlfriend Sears at Dunblane, Scotland his hometown on April 11. The couple exchange vows at the 12th century Dunblane Cathedral. The groom was dressed in the traditional Scottish blue and green kilt with black vest, cropped black jacket and a white shirt. The 27-year-old matched his highland wear with a blue silk tie. He wore black shoes and socks with a sporan and a sgian-dubh tucked into it. He arrived to the venue with his brother Jamie Murray who was also dressed in the same ensemble and had thistles on their lapels. Pitted as the “Royal wedding of Scotland”, the world media captured the event which sparked interest around the globe.

All eyes however were on the bride who looked like a princess, resplendent in an ivory gown. Sussex-born Sears wore an embroidered white gown with three-fourth sleeves and a long veil. The gown had a thick, sparkling sash and matching crystal embellishments around the shoulders. She carried a huge bouquet made of white, pink roses and daisies. The 27-year-old bride wore a custom made gown by British designer Jenny Packham for her wedding, according to Mirror UK. The bespoke silk chiffon ensemble had a full skirt with hand beaded Swarovski crystal detailing on the sleeves, waist and a portion of her back which was low-cut. Sears paired the dress with silver strappy sandals from Jimmy Choo.

Her brunette tresses were done into a beehive half up and half down do with huge curls in the end and had a three metre bespoke silk tulle veil pinned to it. She embellished her hair with Swarovski crystal Kalmia floral headdress. The headband is also by Jenny Packman with a delicate, ribbon-wrapped over it with a cluster of crystals. Jenny Packham is a popular ready-to-wear and bridal designer whose clients include Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

Kim had four bridesmaids who wore full length gowns in deep rose crepe with a Swarovski crystal motif on the neckline. While two of them wore bespoke ostrich feather wraps, the other two wore crepe wraps in the same colour. All of them had their hair fashioned into an up do and wore silver pumps.

Andy’s mum and tennis coach, Judy Murray defied tradition and came to the wedding wearing a shining white dress coat. Underneath the coat, the 55-year-old wore a nude pencil skirt paired with a lace blouse. She matched her ensemble with nude pumps and carried a matching clutch bag. The dress coat had a thick belt which accentuated her athletic frame and she had a small posy of flowers attached to her lapel. Besides, Judy also opted for a stylish oversized hat by milliner William Chambers. Guests also included Andy’s grandmother, Shirley Erskine sporting head-to-toe blue taffeta. His dad William Murray arrived with his partner Sam Watson.

A small reception was also held for the family at Cromlix, which Murray bought in 2013 and converted into a luxury hotel. The couple met at a party for the U.S. Open in 2005. They then dated for nine years before tying the knot. Sears who works as an artist is a regular on best dressed lists. Her father, Nigel, is a tennis coach and coached players including Daniela Hantuchova and Ana Ivanovic.
