Kim Kardashian’s unfortunate loss of multimillion dollar-worth of jewelry in Paris turned out to be a money-making venture for a Halloween costume retailer.

California-based Costumeish created a Kim Kardashian-inspired “Parisian heist robbery victim” kit following the reality television star’s robbery in France.

The kit retails for US$69.99 (AU$92.54) at Costumeish online store. It includes a white short robe, a long black wig, oversized black sunglasses, two-foot rope, a white fake gag and a fake diamond ring, which mimics Kardashian’s famous US$4 million (AU$5.3 million) engagement ring which was among the 13 pieces of jewelry lost to thieves during the Oct. 3 break in.

The Halloween costume kit was based on reports that the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star was held in gunpoint, tied and gagged at the bathroom of her rented apartment in Paris during the heist. The five-man gang reportedly sped with jewelries valued close to US$10 million (AU$13 million).

However, Kardashian’s followers are not exactly impressed with Costumeish’s creativity.

“ This costume is not only f****** tasteless but completely disrespectful of a very serious situation that not only Kim Kardashian has experienced but countless other women and men,” one Ashley commented on the website.

“Whoever thought of this is an inconsiderate idiot,” another commenter Georgia wrote. “…the woman was fearing for her life and thought she was going to be potentially raped, but hey lets make it a joke because she has built a career from the media and so therefore can be dehumanised. If you find this funny you're probably one of those same assholes who thought the virus costume was a laugh.”

On the other hand, Kardashian critics made a laugh out of the news.

“This has nearly inspired me to be happy again. At the very least, you've made me smile. Thanks,” a user named Kim Karma posted.

“It's just a costume, it's not like if wearing it will effect you or others around you. At the end of the day, nobody really cares. It's so creative!” commented GCort.

Kim Kardashian robbery update

Since the Oct. 3 robbery, Kardashian has shied away from the public eye. The wife of musician Kanye West used to be active on social media but has remained inactive since the incident. The filming of reality TV show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” was also put on hold due to her post-robbery trauma. Security around the Kardashian-West household has been reportedly beefed up into “presidential” levels following the break in. Kim, Kanye and their children North and Saint are back in Los Angeles.

Costumeish was also behind the controversial “Foxy Megyn’s bloody tampon” Halloween costume released last year. The outfit was inspired by Donald Trump’s sexist comment about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.
