Kim Kardashian West: 2014 Year In Review

Kim Kardashian West has had a very eventful year. Many aspects of the reality star's life has been on display on television, in the news, and on social media. Some milestones were great but some also gained criticism. Here's a rundown of Kim's 2014 highlights:

Queen of Selfies

When the Kardashian and Jenner clan went to Thailand for a family vacation early this year, Kanye West was unable to join them due to work commitments. Because of this, Kim decided to get herself a camera so that she could take photos of herself during the trip. She wanted to share all the moments from her trip with her husband so she decided to make a selfie book using all the wonderful sights and locations as her background. She ended up taking thousands of photos and earned herself the title of "Queen of Selfies."

VOGUE Magazine Cover

Kim was very proud to have landed the cover of VOGUE Magazine. Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has since become a close friend and the two have been seen rubbing elbows in various fashion events throughout the year. Despite some criticism for choosing Kim and Kanye to appear on the cover, Wintour has defended her choice and said that it's all about being talked about. She said that having the power couple on the cover made the magazine the talk of the town and that was the objective.

Wedding in Florence

Perhaps the biggest highlight of Kim's year is her lavish week-long wedding celebration. Kim and her family flew to Paris for a week and enjoyed the sights. They had a rehearsal dinner in a private Chateau and even had a private tour of the Versailles Palace. The wedding party then moved to Florence, Italy for the actual ceremony. The beautiful photo with Kim and Kanye kissing in front of their wall of roses has become the most liked Instagram photo of the year.

North's First Birthday

North West celebrated her first birthday back in July and her doting mom threw her a big "kidchella" party. The event was held in Kourtney and Scott Disick's backyard because Kim and Kanye's house wasn't ready yet. The party almost got cancelled when Kourtney refused to give Kim permission to use her house. Kim explained how frustrated she was because she didn't have her own home and Kourtney eventually felt sorry for her and agreed to host the event.

Breaking The Internet

Kim attempted to break the internet by appearing nude for the winter issue of PAPER Magazine. The series of photos included one that featured her shiny oiled up backside in full view. Another photo was a full frontal that left nothing to the imagination. The third photo featured Kim balancing a champagne glass on her butt as she held the bottle in her hands. The liquid arched over her head to land n the glass resting on her backside. The photos gave birth to a multitude of parodies and memes. Netizens gave various reactions and a lot of criticism. In the end, Kim's photos made their rounds around the web and even celebrities like Ellen Degeneres couldn't help but make parodies of the photos. She may not have broken the internet but Kim Kardashian certainly managed to invade headlines and social media sites all over the world.

Kim, Kanye and North will be starting the new year with a bang as they move into their new house. Season 10 of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" is currently in production and there is no doubt that the highlights of 2015 will be filmed and viewed on millions of TV screens all over the world as well.
